About Me

Hello. I'm Melody. I'm a solo Christian adventurer. I am an all in kind of person who believes life should be an amazing journey- even with all its pain and suffering, there are also many adventures to be lived in the journey. As long as there are people in my life- there is adventure to be had! I may seem like an extrovert because I love people so much, but I'm secretly an introvert. Well I guess it's not so secret now....

Travel, Teaching, Reading, Painting and Upcycling are a few of my passions. Most of my hobbies are all different outlets for my creativity.

My 23nd birthday surprise. I'm the white girl in the middle surrounded by phenomenal friends from Ecuador.
One of the main reasons I enjoy travel as much as I do is because meeting new people from different cultures is exciting. There's nothing like hearing someone's story for the first time. No two people have the same one. Even people who have similar experiences, can be completely opposite in character. Fascinating!!!

Of course the views, food, and once in a lifetime experiences aren't all that bad either!

Día de los Muertos Cultural Lesson Day

Language Teaching is my profession of choice. I struggle to complete work that has little significance. Thank God, I can teach with purpose. My love for people fuels my energy to teach. With teaching, I am required to be creative on a daily basis and while that is exhausting- it can also be thrilling!

Reading is my escape when all my creative energy is spent. Okay to be honest, it's more like reading and watching movies. Young Adult Novels are the best because they are quick reads, ask about essential life questions, and do not weigh me down with super difficult problems that resemble real life. Most of the time I read novels, but I also enjoy reading inspirational books and educational books. I never want to do less than my best at work. Reading keeps me sane.

I paint and draw mostly as gifts for family and friends. It's inexpensive, meaningful, and fun. I would say floral paintings are easiest, but I am most proud of my works that actually captured the image I was hoping for in my mind.

When I feel like decorating, I upcycle. I pride myself on creating a beautiful room with a few bucks, resourcefulness, imagination, and some elbow grease,
